Sturgeon fish growing plant
Construction of an innovative facility of land-based aquaculture for sturgeon hydrobionts breeding.

The facility is located in the Russian Federation, at about 50 kilometres from the city centre of Chelyabinsk.

The project is based on high-intensity technology of closed water supply (RAS).

Annual capacity:

  • 350 tons of sturgeon products,

  • 10 tons of sturgeon caviar;

  • 200 tons of products from trout or salmon.

RAS complex includes equipment:

  • Pools;

  • Mechanical and biological filters;

  • System of degassing and UV cleaning of water;

  • System of oxygenation and ozonation of water;

  • Automated feeding system

  • The system of centralized control and facility management.

To avoid the risk of water contamination (viruses, bacteria) or necessity crash stop pools are divided into groups. Each group is equipped with an independent RAS system and duplication of the main units.
The project product has the following competitive advantages
  • Top product quality Fish, farmed in the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS), has high ecological purity thanks to the technologies used at the facility;

  • Water is sourced from an underground lake, it passes obligatory entrance control with subsequent purification. Further, this water enters the RAS system, where it undergoes advanced treatment with ultraviolet radiation and ozone, which gives a 100% guarantee of the absence of unwanted bacteria in the water, as well as microorganisms and viruses inadmissible to enter the system;

  • No use of antibiotics and hormonal growth stimulants. For active growth and development of the population, cultivation methods developed by Russian and foreign fish farmers are used. Temperature control creates the conditions of a constant summer (for stable growth of the meat stock), as well as the conditions depending on the season (for the maturity of royal and caviar stocks);

  • The technology of pre-sale preparation by keeping the fish in the cooled running water with no feeding, this process helps to remove the organoleptic characteristics acquired by the fish from the compound feedstuff. After washing, the fish loses excess fat and acquires the taste qualities of free-range fish;

  • In the process of smoking – use of traditional raw materials - alder chips, as well as specific wooden chips of pears, cherries and apples for different tastes;

  • Premium skin packaging. Skin-packing is a package made of a thin heated skin stretched on a product in vacuum conditions, which is then placed on a sheet of moulded environmentally friendly black plastic.
